This Windows error 1603 occurs when a user tries to install a Microsoft Installer package, at such time Windows unable to install and sends error message to the user. Cause of the Windows error 1603
This Windows error 1603 error occurs for various reason below given some steps which occurs if any one of the below given condition is true.
If the System account has not any permission to install the Windows Installer package, if the system is protected by the Administrative account and the System has not fully permission to access the application at such circumstance the user may fail to Install Windows Installer package.
If the user try to install the package which is encrypted, because the Operating System unable to read the encrypted data and the install process becomes fail.
If a file is locked and a user can not be access the file and the file can’t overwrite, at such circumstance user unable to install the Windows Installer package.
How to resolve Windows error 1603
You can solve this Windows installer problem by using an install the package to a folder which is not encrypted.
You have to grant full permission to the System account to install the package. To apply this steps you can follow the below given steps.
Open Start and from the list click on my computer and from the Tools menu of the My Computer select folder option. Click on the Vies tab and you have to clear the Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended) check box to turn off Simple File Sharing.
From the Security option do the verify Name Box which contain the System Account inside it and in the permission section click on the Full Control check box which is under Allow and then click on Advance. If you have use Windows XP, click to choose Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects check box from the System account and then Click on OK bottom after that you can receives a security message then click on Yes and start to install Windows Installer package.
