This Error code 1603 is known as the Windows
installation error. Which is mainly occurs when a user try to install a Windows
installer package on the PC and at such time the user unable to install and receives
error message on the PC screen. This error code 1603 issue occurs due to various
reasons and mostly it occurs if the installation folder is encrypted, if the
installation package is derived from a substitute drive and restricted to

If the Windows installation folder is encrypted and
the user tries to install from that folder it returns error message to the

from a substitute drive it creates the fatal error issue and the last reason is
if the user account has not any full control permission to access that folder
when a user try to Windows installation from that folder the System account can’t
give any permission to install software on the user machine. So it is most
necessary to get resolve windows error 1603.
Solution

You have to try installation package from a folder
which is not an encrypted folder, you have to access the drive which is not a substitute
drive and you have to grant the full control to access the System account. To grant
the full control you can follow the manual instruction which is applicable for Windows
2000 and Windows XP.
Apply this method if you have receives the error
message of Grant full access permission
Open my Computer then right click on the drive which
you want to install in the Windows Installer package then click on properties
and click on security tab
Click the Security tab if not found this option you
can also follow this method
Click on Start, and then click My Computer and on
the tool menu choose folder option then click on view tab and clear the Use
Simple File Sharing check box to turn off Simple File Sharing then from the
security tab verify the Name or Group or user names box then click on Add. Then
you will able to see allow and click on Advance option now select the Replace
permission entries on the child objects and reset the permission and then click
on Ok. Then you will able to see the security message and click on yes then run
the Windows installer package.
